The ‘Westerhof’ is a historic building with a long history. Originally it was an estate of the abbey by the lake, and the tenants supplied the monks with wood, meat, milk and cheese, lard and even crops of grain that grew well on the south-facing slopes.
Apart from a share of their produce, the tenants on the ‘Westerhof’ also had to lend a helping hand when other services were required from the abbey.
