Tegernsee lake valley offers a diverse array of sport and leisure activities all year around. Hikers and Nordic walking fans can look forward to trails right outside the door, such as the Neureuth trail (1 hour). Further well-marked hiking tracks lead right into the Tegernsee Mountains. For golf fans, there are 2 lovely 18-hole golf courses, a 6-hole course as well as a driving range in 5 minutes distance. In summertime the lake is ideal for swimming, sailing, rowing, wind-surfing and pedalo boating. You even can take a pleasant boat trip around the lake or visit the new "See Sauna - Monte Mare" right on the idyllic banks of the lake. Winter sports are very popular in the region. There are 30 pistes and ca. 150 km of cross country slopes between Gmund and Kreuth. 2 slopes are flood-lit for night-time skiing. Alternatively you can enjoy romantic coach rides or snow shoe hiking. Culture vultures have a wealth of activities to choose from. In the surrounding area you will find traditional country theatres, churches, palaces as well as concerts and exhibitions. |
